NO RESET Chips

09/03/2015 We have tested this new type of compatible chips for several months among some of our most professional customers. After confirming the good outcomes obtained and the benefits compared to using normal reset chips, IUCHIP is proud to offer this exclusive type of chip to our customers.

No Reset chips have a similar effect than CMV chips, which are valid just for bizhub C250/252/300/352 and equivalent models of Develop. Olivetti and Océ.

No Reset chips must be used before the replacement message appears on the screen!!!
Reset chips have to be used compulsorily if the MFP is already showing the replacement message.
Only Imaging Units producing good print quality can be reused.
Chips cannot fix malfunctions, image quality problems or Service Codes!!!

Benefits of exclusive IUCHIP No Reset chips compared to normal Reset chips:

Benefits of installing No Reset chips are related to the fact that the MFP does not perform the automatic calibration processes forced by the installation of a Reset chip.

- Image quality of the printouts will be the same than the one obtained previous to the replacement of the chip.
- It will not be then necessary to carry on image quality adjustment (color gradation), that can be in some cases tiresome and take a remarkable time.
- Error Service Codes that can block the MFP are avoided (basically C2551 to C2559). This can happen depending on the condition of the imaging unit (~15% of cases). The codes are generated when the MFP is not able to finish the automatic calibrations with good results.
- Toner consumption will remain the same than before. Without automatic calibrations there will be no new reference values that can affect the toner supply procedure.
- As the reused IU will work under better conditions, we are remarkably improving our chances of reusing the IU for one additional cycle!!!

Imaging Units (IU) are consumables directly related to the creation of the image on the printouts. When IUs are brand new, they have a reset chip installed. When installing a brand new IU in a MFP, two reactions are provoked by the reset chip:

  1. After reading some bytes of the chip's memory and verify that it has a "reset configuration", the MFP automatically starts a series of adjustments/calibrations, with the target of obtaining some reference values that will be used to have an optimum and stable image quality. Also to regulate toner supply.
  2. If automatic adjustments are finished with good results (that is to say, reference values obtained are within a valid range) the print counter stored in the IU's chip is set to 0, and the MFP goes to "Ready to Print" status.

Brand new IU means "ideal conditions". This is obviously the right moment for the MFP to perform calibrations and obtain new reference values.

When we reuse an IU that has reached its life cycle, what we normally do is to replace its chip by a new one, equivalent to the chip coming with a brand new IU (reset chip), and then the IU is reinserted in the MFP. Experience says that this is a successful way of reusing an IU, in most cases and for most models.

At this point. I guess you will accept that the first step taken by the MFP when installing an used IU with a reset chip is not the best choice. As I mentioned, it works well in most cases, but it is not the best choice!!!

Automatic adjustments/calibrations are conceived for brand new units, and the IU we want to reuse is not new! When reusing an IU, the two things we should be really interested in are:

  1. Keep our MFP printing under the conditions previous to the replacement of the chip, with the reference values obtained when the IU was new.
  2. Set the print counter to 0 (or to a value near to 0).

No Reset chips provide these two conditions, so that they are a much better choice than reset chips!!!
